Connecticut has the highest coronavirus death rate in long-term care facilities in the Northeast, an independent study released Tuesday says, caused by a lack of scientific knowledge about the disease, unfilled positions at the Department of Public Health, obsolete reporting systems, and an insufficient supply of personal protective equipment.
