The impact of a partnership led by AHRQ that brings expert training and peer-to-peer mentorship to nursing homes to protect staff and residents from COVID-19 is the subject of a new AHRQ Views blog post by AHRQ Acting Director David Meyers, M.D., and AHRQ Chief Data Officer Mamatha Pancholi, Ph.D. In its four months of operation, the AHRQ National Nursing Home COVID-19 Action Network has enrolled more than 8,500 nursing homes in every state, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico. The Network provides free training and peer-to-peer mentorship to help nursing homes increase the use of evidence-based infection prevention and safety practices to protect residents and staff. It’s a partnership with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and the University of New Mexico’s Project ECHO.
