Florida AG Announces Arrest of Home Services Provider for Defrauding Taxpayers

Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, with the assistance of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, announced the arrest of the owner of Amirah Healthcare LLC, a Medicaid-funded home and community services provider. According to the law enforcement investigation, Juantavis Lavonte Hudson submitted claims to Medicaid for services that were never rendered, causing a loss to Florida Medicaid of more than $50,000. In March of 2024, the parents of a Medicaid recipient expressed concerns about Hudson’s billing practices. The recipient’s parents confirmed that he had not provided services on several of the dates and times Hudson had billed. The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit conducted further investigation, revealing that Hudson billed and was paid for services not rendered to three Medicaid recipients, as confirmed by their caregivers’ testimony and pertinent documents, causing a total Medicaid loss of $53,201.34.
