Alexa Ferraro
Alexa is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She has been a valued member of Med-Net Compliance, LLC for nine years, beginning her tenure as a Client Services Coordinator supporting a small portfolio of clients. Through her dedication and expertise, she has advanced to the role of Client Services Manager.
In her current position, Alexa plays a key role in overseeing the Client Services Department, working closely with the Client Services Directors to ensure seamless operations. Her responsibilities span a wide range of functions, including direct client engagement, issue resolution, involvement of the risk management program, and responding to inquiries submitted through the help desk.
Alexa also coordinates and facilitates Med-Net’s quarterly Governing Body Meetings, where she presents industry updates and reviews client performance metrics. Additionally, she collaborates regularly with a third- party vendor to develop and enhance reporting features, ensuring clients have access to innovative and effective tools.
Amy Harrington, PTA, CO-Q
Amy Harrington, a North Carolina native, is a Med-Net Healthcare Compliance Specialist. Her role includes working with Med-Net clients to improve their therapy department documentation and completion of a Triple Check Process that facilitates submission of accurate claims to Medicare. Amy is also developing protocols, forms, and a rehabilitation education and auditing program as a Med-Net service line for clients. Her work experience contributes a focus on patient appeals, reimbursement, long term care rehabilitation, compliance, as well as patient advocacy.
Amy graduated from Austin Community College in 1997 and began her therapy career working with patients with traumatic brain injuries and neurologic impairments at Brown School Rehab Center (now Texas Neurologic Institute). She then worked as the Team Lead on the head injury team at HealthSouth Rehab Hospital (Largo, FL), pediatric therapist at Grandma’s house (Orlando, FL), Rehabilitation Liaison at HealthSouth Rehab Hospital (Largo, FL), Marketing Director at the Barrington – ILF/ALF (Largo, FL), PTA at Westchester Gardens SNF (Clearwater, FL), Director of Rehab – Glen Oaks SNF (Clearwater, FL), Appeals, and Compliance Coordinator- Halcyon Rehab and Home Health PTA, prior to joining the Med Net Team of qualified professionals.
Bashie Wainhaus
Bashie Wainhaus has been a dedicated member of the Med-Net Concepts team since 2013, bringing over a decade of experience in healthcare sales and client relations. As a Sales Representative, Bashie is known for her passion for connecting with clients and helping them navigate their compliance needs with care and consistency. With a background in both sales and billing, including senior roles at Pulse Ambulance and Upstairs Solutions in Chicago, Bashie brings a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape and the challenges providers face. She has played a key role in supporting Med-Net’s evolving compliance programs and takes pride in providing attentive, personalized service to every client.
Bernadine Grist, BSN, RN
Bernadine brings her expertise to MedNet Compliance, LLC after years of experience in skilled nursing as well as her most recent position of Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC). Prior to being an RNAC, Bernie was also an RN supervisor, charge nurse, and a director of nursing. Her professional knowledge of MDS information and nursing supervision highlights a commitment to resident safety and well being. Bernie is a rapid response consultant and conductor of chart audits. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Mansfield University.
Betty Frandsen, MHA, RN, NHA, CDONA, FACDONA, DNS-CT, IP-BC
Betty MacLaughlin Frandsen, MHA, NHA, RN, FACDONA, CO-Q has over 35 years of experience in long-term care settings. She currently serves as the Senior Consultant for Med-Net Academy (MNA), a Member of Med-Net Concepts’ network of Healthcare Compliance and Consulting Companies, of Princeton, NJ, was the MNA President for more than five years, and prior to that was the Vice President of Professional Development at Med-Net Compliance, LLC. Betty served as the Director of Clinical Education for NADONA/LTC, and prior to that was AANAC’s Nurse Leader Curriculum Development Specialist for 7 years. Betty held the position of director of nursing for 14 years, and is a licensed nursing home administrator in Pennsylvania and New York where she successfully managed facilities ranging in size from 77 to 356 beds. She served as a culture change consultant to nursing homes in New York, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania while working for the Institute for Caregiver Education, and was their grant writer and editor/primary author for an online classroom for nursing home administrators. Betty is a past president of NADONA/LTC, was their Legislative Coordinator in Washington DC for five years, served in a variety of Board positions for over 10 years, and founded the New York and Pennsylvania chapters of NADONA. She was a founding member of the Pennsylvania Culture Change Coalition, and served on its board of directors. She has presented numerous LTC training sessions at the annual conferences of NADONA and AANAC, and in Leadership Conferences provided by both nursing organizations.
Carlos Beato, MHA
A highly respected executive, Carlos has 30 years of executive level clinical, management and business development experience in both for-profit, not-for-profit, and faith-based organizations including assisted living, skilled nursing, home care and post-acute rehab.
Carlos was the Executive Director of the Holland Christian Home in New Jersey from January 2020- June 2023 where he was responsible for a 117 bed Residential Care facility and 57 bed SNF with over 165 employees.
Prior to that he was the Chief Executive Officer of Bon Secours New York Health System (Schervier Nursing Care Center in Riverdale, NY) from 20013-2017 where he was responsible for the effective and efficient management and growth of the BSNY ministry and provided leadership, vision, inspiration and direction to ensure the success of its patient, resident, physician, employee, operational, financial, community and strategic initiatives. Key to his role was the ability to identify, develop, and forge strategic relationships, which positioned BSNY as a valuable partner in the post-acute care continuum.
Prior to that he was employed at United Methodist Homes of New Jersey, where he was Corporate Director of Clinical Services. His responsibilities included clinical management oversight of 10 facilities, ranging from HUD housing, CCRC’s, Assisted Living, Memory Support and Skilled Nursing Services with over 1300 residents.
Carlos was the President/CEO of his own consulting firm for 16 years with clients that included hospitals, nursing homes, homecare, hospices and assisted living facilities. Key work focus included compliance/regulatory issues as well as developing strategic partnerships/alliances for profitability.
Carlos earned his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Jersey City State University in Jersey City and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Excelsior College, Albany, NY. Carlos resides in Monroe, NJ with Maria, his wife of 50 years. They have two children, Eryn Casey and Lauren Beato and four grandchildren.
Courtney Campbell
Courtney Campbell joined the Med-Net team in 2018 and currently serves as the Associate Controller. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration on Accounting, and is also a certified SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management - Certified Professional). Courtney graduated from Montclair State University in 2012 and began her career at Green Hill Retirement Home, where she worked from 2006 to 2018. During her tenure, she advanced from bookkeeper to financial controller, honing in on her skills in managing finances within a healthcare environment. Additionally, Courtney ran her own freelance financial management business from 2018 to 2020. Her education, certifications, and extensive experience make her a valuable asset to Med-Net’s financial team.
Cynthia Orr, MA. Ed. Admin.
Cindy Orr is compliance specialist having over 17 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and over 10 years’ experience working in healthcare compliance. During this time she earned her master’s degree in educational administration and went back to school to get a second masters in Instructional Design. She has been Editor in Chief of Healthcare Connect and also served as a Middle School consultant for Middle States evaluations. She is passionate about compliance, because there is no gray- a standard is a standard and it is either met or it is not. Cindy has been with Med-Net for 6+years.
Outside of work, Cindy loves spending time with her husband and 5 daughters. She has two grandchildren, Henry and Birdie (Bridget) who bring her absolute joy. She loves to run, walk, hike and anything that brings her outdoors. She recently purchased a farmhouse and is looking forward to hosting gatherings for her large family.
David Barmak, Esq. J.D.
David S. Barmak, Esq. received a JD from Cornell University and a BA from Duke University. David has lectured and written on issues affecting healthcare providers and organizations, including, but not limited to, corporate compliance programs, antitrust concerns, integrated delivery systems and managed care contracting. David Barmak’s legal expertise is in the areas of corporate compliance, risk management, human resources and operational legal affairs.
David has a strong background in operations, having served as both the Associate Administrator and General Counsel for a large New York Certified Home Health Agency, initiating and directing a New York Licensed Home Care Services Agency as well as owning and operating a Durable Medical Equipment company.
David is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
Erica O’Brien
Erica O'Brien joined Med-Net in 2023 as a Hotline Coordinator and Administrative Assistant. She earned an Associate's degree in Sports Management from Columbus State Community College. Prior to her role with Med-Net, Erica worked in the insurance industry and at a foreclosure law firm, where she handled a range of administrative and client-facing responsibilities. Her diverse experience in both administrative support and client interaction makes her a valuable addition to the Med-Net team.
Jessica Zappulla, BA
Jessica serves as a Client Services Management Coordinator at Med-Net. With over 15 years of experience in customer service, Jessica brings a deep commitment to client satisfaction and operational efficiency. Jessica’s extensive background in client relations supports her ability to manage complex service needs and maintain strong, lasting partnerships.
Jessica resides in New Jersey and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication where she continues to apply her knowledge and expertise to enhance the client experience and contribute to the team’s overall success.
Justine Corcoran, A.A., B.A., CO-Q
Justine Corcoran is the Director of Client Services Management at Med-Net Concepts, where she oversees a highly skilled and dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional communication and support across all programs and service areas. With a strong focus on client relationships, Justine maintains ongoing engagement with Med-Net’s client base to understand their evolving needs and ensure a consistently positive experience. Through proactive communication and insight, Justine has contributed to the development and refinement of several programs and service enhancements that support Med-Net’s ongoing value and client relationships. Her leadership style empowers and motivates her team, creating a collaborative environment that values quality, responsiveness, and client satisfaction. Justine has proudly been with Med-Net since 2012.
Karen Barmak
As a member of the Med-Net community since 2006, Karen serves as both Controller and Director of Human Resources, managing the finances of Med-Net's network of compliance, education and consulting companies. As Controller, she is responsible for monitoring and overseeing Med-Net's financial health. As Director of Human Resources, she maintains all personnel files, manages Med-Net's group benefits programs, employee handbooks, and additional internal policies and procedures. With over 25 years of professional experience, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Concentration in Finance from the University of Delaware, Karen's excellent leadership skills and “open door” policy, combined with her experience in financial management roles, has allowed for the smooth and profitable operation of Med-Net's Human Resources Department.
Kristi Dougherty
Kristi Dougherty joins the team as a Healthcare Specialist, bringing over 40 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. The majority of her career has been dedicated to the nursing home environment, where she served extensively as a Director of Nursing and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Kristi’s background also includes work in acute care hospital settings and as a SALSA for Assisted Living. She has served as a nurse consultant for skilled nursing facilities, supporting DPH monitoring, and has contributed to legal case reviews for several attorneys.
Kristi holds a BSN from the University of Maryland and both an MSM and MBA from Albertus Magnus College. She is passionate about delivering quality care and supporting healthcare teams through collaboration and education. Outside of work, Kristi is happily married with three children and seven grandchildren — who are her greatest inspiration and the “why” behind everything she does.
Lindsey Rummel, RN, BSN
After obtaining her nursing degree, Lindsey began her nursing career at Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital helping patients who had strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic injuries, neuromuscular illness, and other medical conditions. She participated in the spinal cord injuries support group that educated patients and families on daily activities, on living, and on how families can assist and support their loved ones. Lindsey returned to school and received a BSN from Penn State University. While there, she obtained a certificate in forensic nursing. She then began a position at Wellspan York Hospital as a forensic nurse examiner/SAFE nurse. Lindsey took care of patients of all ages that had been sexually or physically assaulted. She frequently spent 6 or more hours performing an examination, taking pictures of injuries, and writing up detailed reports of the assault. During that time, Lindsey obtained her Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certificates in both adults and pediatrics (not currently active). After over 220 cases and having effects of vicarious trauma, she made the move to a labor and delivery unit. She worked on weekend night shifts, often as the charge nurse managing a 10-bed unit and a 5 bed NICU unit. Lindsey worked there 3 years prior to joining the Med-Net Team.
Marianna Grachek, MSN, RN, LNHA, LHSE, FACDONA, FACHCA, ACHCA Retired Emeritus Certified, CMDCP
Marianna Kern Grachek has over 30 years of health care leadership experience including serving nationally as President & CEO of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) and as the Executive Director for the Long-Term Care Accreditation Program at the Joint Commission. She has held various administrative, nursing, and academic positions including serving as a nursing home administrator, a director of nursing, an educator in both nursing education and staff development education programs, and gerontological nursing specialty roles. Ms. Grachek has served on several national groups including the Advancing Excellence Board of Directors, the Assisted Living Workgroup (ALW) convened at the request of the US Senate Special Committee on Aging and has served as an AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Senior Examiner.
Currently, Marianna surveys Nursing Care Centers for the Joint Commission and serves as the Executive Director for Quality Management for MedNet, LLC.
Ms. Grachek is a fellow in the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) and holds their Retired Emeritus Certified distinction in nursing home administration (CNHA) and assisted living administration (CALA). She is a fellow in NADONA and has held NADONA certification as a director of nursing. She holds a Robust Process Improvement Yellow Belt from The Joint Commission. Marianna is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National Nursing Honor Society, and currently holds the Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP) certification.
Marianna received her diploma in Nursing from St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH, her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Toledo, and her Master of Science degree in Nursing with a focus in gerontological care at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. She is licensed as a nursing home administrator (NHA), as a Health Services Executive (HSE), and as a registered nurse in the state of Ohio.
Marshall Goldberg, SC.D, LHNA
Marshall Goldberg has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) in New Jersey for over 35 years. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of a 220 bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility that placed high emphasis on a sub-acute population. It consistently achieved deficiency free state and federal surveys. He was responsible for repositioning the facility into a new state of the art facility. His knowledge of healthcare resources and where with all make him the ideal President of Med-Net Healthcare Consulting, LLC an independent affiliate of Med-Net Concepts, LLC. Marshall is also instrumental in providing education and leadership skills to compliance officers and committees in conjunction with the Med-Net Compliance and Med-Net Risk Management Programs. Marshall is a past chairperson of the Board of Directors of LeadingAge New Jersey and past chairperson of the Educational Program and Regulatory Compliance committees of the organization. He is a past member of the New Jersey State Advisory Committee on Aging Services.
Maryanne Kilpatrick, RN
Maryann Kilpatrick joined Med-Net in 2020 as a Clinical Healthcare Coordinator. Prior to this role, she served as the Director of Nursing (DON) in a 250-bed long-term care facility. In early 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic began to unfold, Maryann recognized the potential devastation it could bring to long-term care settings. After discussing the situation with her husband, she made the difficult decision to step away from her position. A few months later, she connected with David, our CEO, and began her journey with Med-Net. Maryann’s wealth of experience in clinical healthcare and her leadership during challenging times make her a valuable member of the Med-Net team.
Melissa Olmeda, BA, MBA
Melissa Olmeda earned her BA in Music Business (2017) and MBA in Marketing (2020) from New Jersey City University. Since February 2021, she has been with Med-Net Concepts, where she applies her expertise in business and customer service to support Med-Net’s goals and growth.
Merle Chinich
As client satisfaction survey coordinator, Merle reaches out by telephone to clients after compliance training provided by our compliance specialists at Med-Net Concepts, LLC. Merle uses these calls as a way to measure the clients overall happiness with the training they just received as well as their overall satisfaction with the firm. This survey gives our clients a chance to give us feedback and recommendations for the future.
Patricia Andrassy, RN, BS, Former CMS Surveyor
After working for the New Jersey Department of Health for over ten years as a surveyor, Ms. Andrassy has brought her expertise to Med-Net Concepts, LLC serving as the company’s Director of Compliance Assurance. In this capacity she monitors the process and programs developed by and made available to clients and their staff. As a surveyor for the state, her duties included conducting investigations of service complaints at various types of long term care facilities, conducting annual Medicare-Medicaid surveys for compliance of Federal and state regulations, reviewing acceptance or rejection plans of correction submitted by healthcare providers, and providing orientation for new surveyors. Patricia is a Registered Nurse in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Rebecca Davis, BS, ADN, RN
Rebecca Davis, BS, ADN, RN received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Ohio University, then changed career paths and obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing. Her entire nursing career has been based in long-term care. She began as an STNA while in high school and continued through college. She has 25 years of experience in long-term care nursing management, ranging from Skilled Unit Manager and then Director of Nursing to Vice President of Clinical and Quality Assurance where she managed 16 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Ohio. Rebecca has practical experience in dementia and behavior units, system management, and survey management. She developed the infection control policies and procedures for her corporation during the COVID pandemic. She also developed educational programs and schedules for the nursing home company to meet all CMS requirements of participation. As a regional nurse, she was assigned to a Special Focus Facility and successfully navigated it off the Special Focus List in 7 months. Rebecca joined Med-Net in 2021 and serves as Director of Education. She participates in and leads numerous workgroups and committees, and is integral in the ongoing development of webinars, MNA programming, and the creation of the MNA learning management system (LMS) platform. She also oversees the development and ongoing updating of the numerous Med-Net policy and procedure manuals for clients.
Rina Richard, BS
With over 20 years of experience in the senior healthcare industry, Rina has a deep understanding of both human resources and operational management. As the former Chief Administrative Officer for a senior healthcare campus in New Jersey, Rina was responsible for overseeing the Human Resources department and driving operational programming to enhance organizational efficiency. At Med-Net, Rina leverages her expertise to provide clients with strategic guidance on navigating complex Human Resources challenges. She also plays a key role in developing the monthly educational bundles that help clients meet the goals and objectives of their Compliance and Ethics Programs. Rina holds a BS in Finance and a Master's Certificate in Senior Care Management. She currently resides in Lambertville, NJ, with her two children.
Rosemary Anderson
Rosemary Anderson has served as a Client Services Coordinator with Med-Net Concepts for 2 1/2 years and brings 21 years of experience in long-term care as an HR/Payroll Coordinator and Accounts Payable Clerk. She is passionate about building strong client relationships, streamlining processes, and continuing education to stay the forefront of industry best practices.
Scott DeMonte, BSME. AAS MMBA
As a member of the Med-Net community since April 2017, Scott serves on the Med-Net Executive Leadership Team. Scott is also the Executive Director of Operations overseeing the structure and organization of the firm's business platforms, from information technology hardware and software improvements to department formations for employee alignment, and guidance with business finances and human resource initiatives. He has significantly contributed to several of Med-Net's ancillary client services programs and serves as a key contributor for updating and implementing Med-Net’s core business program. With over 37 years of professional experience, Scott has previously held staff positions and high-level management roles within the private and public sector markets for major US manufacturing companies and utilities. His past experience has provided Med-Net with a solid operations team leader that sets goals and priorities to achieve our clients' goals in the post-acute long-term care industry.
Sylvia Bennett-Josephson, RN, BSN, CDONA, CDP, CDDACT, IP-BC, FACDONA, CO-Q
Sylvia is certified as a Director of Nursing, is a Fellow of NADONA (National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration) and is also certified as a Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer by the National Council of Dementia Practitioners. Sylvia is certified as an Infection Preventionist. Sylvia is Certified as Compliance Officer-Qualified. Sylvia is also certified as an Eden Associate (a culture changing organization).
Sylvia has had several articles published including “I am a nurse” New Mobility 2008 and “Pressure Ulcers are everyone’s business” Long Term Care 2012. Sylvia also serves as a clinical content/subject matter expert reviewer for Wolters Kluwer Publishing, reviewing such publications as Lippincott Nursing Solutions.
Tiffany Moody
Tiffany Moody received her B.A. in Communications with a focus on Multimedia Communication and a Minor in English - Creative Writing from Rider University. Tiffany’s background includes print, web and social media marketing, assisting and coordinating team events, office administration as well as office and project management. As Med-Net’s Healthcare Consulting Project Coordinator, Tiffany works with Med-Net Compliance and Med-Net Consulting. She communicates with staff and clients to coordinate projects and tasks, manages meetings and schedules, addresses inquiries, and platform/application management.
Victoria McKay, BA
Victoria McKay joined Med-Net in 2022 as a Client Services Coordinator, bringing over 15 years of customer service experience. With a background as a sales manager, she understands the importance of building strong relationships and being accessible and timely when meeting client needs. Victoria holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Kean University, showcasing her diverse skill set. Her expertise in client service and her commitment to delivering excellent support make her a valuable part of the Med-Net team.
